Of course, the goal of this project is to get the public and manufacturers excited so you can buy your environment-friendly car already made...

The choice of batteries will determine performance and range. Lead-Acid batteries are cheap but provide limited range. Other more advanced technologies are better, but more costly. Lithium Ion batteries seem to be the option to go for at the moment, but they're still very expensive.

Although there are a couple of different technologies for the engines, the differences are not that great.

Other areas include the heating system, usually a ceramic based heater will be appropriate without hitting the batteries too much.
